Cura Therapeutics LLC is dedicated to the discovery and development of novel small molecule drugs to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
Cura Therapeutics is a sister company to Cenna Biosciences and was founded in 2017 to develop small molecule candidates that inhibit the production of Aß by a novel mechanism that does not target ß- or γ-secretase. Our approach thus avoids the inhibition or modulation of their other numerous substrates besides APP that have confounded previous therapeutic efforts by others in the reduction of Aß. Cura’s small molecule candidates have been shown to effectively reduce Aß in Alzheimer’s patient-derived stem cells and are being developed as possible oral drugs. It is anticipated that these therapeutics will have a significant impact in both treatment and prevention modes and be useful throughout the course of disease.
